These photos may just make you wish for a little girl to dress up and spoil. Juliet’s cowgirl themed smash cake session is on the blog today so saddle up!

Mom brought this great outfit complete with paisley, lace and denim. Perfect for a little cowgirl to get messy in!

Then it was into the tub because really, you can’t go wrong with a naked baby and bubbles. Happy first birthday to the cutest little cowgirl out there!

I Love You Forever Lifestyle Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography, Newborn Photographer near RAF Mildenhall
This is a little different from my usual newborn sessions as I was able to photograph Heather and Noah in their home as they enjoyed their first few days together as mama and baby.

Heather’s home is absolutely gorgeous – giant windows with beautiful natural light. And how precious and perfect is her new little guy?

After a little snack, we moved into Heather’s guest bedroom with even more natural light and calming decor. Since Noah was born in England yet heading back to the States soon with his mama, we thought it would be fun to use this beautiful Union Jack quilt. Judging by his sleepy little grin, he seemed to think it was a great idea!

Lifestyle shoots are a great option for moms who may be having a difficult recovery and they really showcase that special bond between mom and baby. And there’s no need to stress about having a perfectly organized home! There are lots of easy tricks we can employ to highlight the most important aspect of the session – the incredible little life you’ve just created! These detail shots of little Noah are a perfect example of that; set in front of a window, you would never know these images weren’t created in a studio with a fancy set up. Plus, mama gets extra cuddle time which is never a bad thing.

You’ll remember from Heather’s maternity shoot that we incorporated this special book, “I Love You Forever.” What a gift that she is finally able to read it in person with her little bundle of joy. Such sweet moments between these two; already creating special family memories.

Noah was such an easy going and cooperative baby that we decided to do some more formal poses with him. Again, these were shot in Heather’s house and I couldn’t be happier with the results. What a handsome little man!

Noah, you are so very loved and it’s easy to see why. I am so thankful to have met you and am sure you will grow to be an amazing man after meeting your incredible mama. How exciting that you are finally here!

Bye Bye CD’s say HELLO to USB’s – Footsteps Photography
I’m very excited about all of the changes to Footsteps Photography that has happened this year. It not only means a change in the images you will be seeing show in both Facebook and the blog, but also changes to a more Boutique Styled photo studio. So what is the difference you may be wondering? The boutique experience is about YOU. We will discuss what you like, what you dont’ like, and anything personal to YOU during our pre-session consultation. Footsteps Photography takes only a limited number of sessions per week to maintain high standards and quality images each and every session whether it is a Maternity session, to a Newborn session, a Grow with Me or a Smash cake session. No two sessions or images are the same because of personal touches and YOU.
Well the first change is SPECIALIZEDÂ session styles. So to you the customer what does specialization mean??? It simply means that instead of “doing a little bit of everything” I have chosen the the Maternity through first years as my area of Expertise. It doesn’t mean that FSP doesn’t shoot families, see the original blog post here and family session special here.

Second, Welcome the new USB’s. I’m extremely picky (as a professional should be right), Picky in making sure your images are PERFECTLY captured and edited as well. Well I also have gone back and forth on making the jump from CD’s to USB’s for well over a year. I’ve ordered samples upon samples of everything to look and feel what was right for FSP. After a BUNCH of options, I’ve finally found ones that say exactly what I want FSP to be known for: Quality, Elegance and and Beauty. So why the change? Disk are becoming more and more obsolete. How many of you still have a 3.5″ floppy drive, Or a ZIP disk drive?? Most newer computers now are being built without CD drives and with USB flash drives in there place. Also they have a longer life for protecting your images. No more scratched disks not working, no more worry about them breaking in a move (or with your kids) and they are more compact and easier to use. Still the MOST IMPORTANT THING WITH ANY MEDIUM is “Don’t forget to print and display your beautiful images.”

See these are a few of the many options I selected from——>>>

So what do you think???

All digital disks collections will become a Custom Digital USB’s and any digital image in packages and collections (with 10 digital images and over) will now come on a Custom USB instead of a disk.
And LAST, one more change is a coming. The exact details are still in its infancy and are all written down, being arranged and thought about in great details to make sure its PERFECT, but think BIG and amazing things to come for end of 2014 to the start of 2015!!!

Unbreakable Bond Family Session – Footsteps Photography, Family Photographer near RAF Mildenhall
I am so thankful to be able to do what I love and make amazing memories for my clients in the process. While all my sessions are special, every once in awhile, I get the chance to learn a little more about a family and I am simply blown away by the love and strength of the human race. Jennifer and Dane are a special duo and I am confident their story will touch you as much as it did me.

In her initial email to me, this is how Jennifer described her son and also gave me a little background on their story: “My son, Dane, is all boy! I named him ‘Dane’ because my husband and I were married in Denmark. Little does he know the joy his presence has brought to so many. He is my mooring in life and a miracle baby. When I look at Dane, his smile and demeanor embodies pure joy, hope and life, a daily reminder to live life to its fullest! Dane and I are a team and we are definitely survivors. Dane’s dad, my husband and soulmate, died 12 hours before Dane was born of a massive and completely unexpected heart attack. It’s been a challenging six year journey, but Dane and I are moving forward and have a shot at a new beginning here in England!” This mama’s strength and love just blew me away and looking at these photos of Dane playing with his dad’s vintage cars has such special meaning after knowing the history behind this family.

I loved how Jennifer described Dane as “all boy.” It is so true as he had a blast discovering all sorts of bugs and interesting things during our session. Jennifer’s teaching background came through as she provided all sorts of fun facts and insights about the treasures her little sidekick found. The bond between these two is unmistakable and such a gift to witness.

With some gentle help and encouragement from mom, Dane conquered his fear and climbed up this tree. I love his triumphant celebration pose! Such a great personality in this little guy.

Apparently, this is Dane’s signature move: the claw.

I also love this quote from Jennifer about her relationship with her son: “Dane and I love traveling, adventure, weekends, the beach, learning and spending time on the road or at home — no matter, just together!”

Being new to England, Jennifer really wanted to capture the poppy and linseed fields as they are such iconic symbols for British living. Thankfully, as she mentioned, she and Dane love adventure as we had to wade through grass that was over our heads to get these shots!

We had planned to switch gears and do the linseed fields after the poppy shots. Little did we realize, linseed flowers close at night so there was some schedule shifting in order to get exactly the look we were going for.

Jennifer and Dane, thank you so much for sharing your story and your incredible bond with me. Your love just shines through in these photographs and the strength in your words is inspiring. Welcome to England; I know you two are already making unforgettable memories here in your new home!
