Black and White Film-style Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography, Newborn Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

I have another great black and white session for you today! Wanting to switch things up a bit, I posted on my Facebook page that I was looking for someone interested in doing an entire shoot in black and white. The Hillard family answered my call and I’m sure you’ll agree that the results are something truly special.

I really wanted to achieve a classic, film feel with this session. All photos were shot in-camera as black and white, allowing me to adjust contrast and saturation for each set up.

The Hillards chose to wait to find out Rowan’s gender until birth so shooting in black and white also gave me a great opportunity to focus on all the sweet details of this new bundle rather than making it a gender specific shoot.

Flaky little toes, squishy lips and delicate eyelashes. Is it any wonder I love photographing newborns?!

Toy Story Themed Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

I love when clients come to me with an idea for a session and we’re able to create something special and specific. The Valle family loves Toy Story. So much, in fact, that at just four days old, baby Alexander dressed up as Woody for his big sister’s Toy Story themed birthday party. Knowing he would soon outgrow that adorable outfit, we made sure to capture it one last time. This has to be the cutest little cowboy I’ve ever seen!

Even though Alex had already turned one, we still had fun celebrating all the little things that make him special.

We also had a yummy smash cake complete with blue polka dots to match Alex’s fancy tie. Check out those lashes, too!

Alex dug right in, demolishing his cake and even sharing some with the balloons. Way to go, Alex, and as Woody says, “reach for the sky!”

Black and White Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography, Newborn Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

If you’ve followed my blog for even a short time, you know I love bright colors. However, for Callie Marie’s session, we mixed in some black and white and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

These parents were so loving not just with Callie but each other as well.

Little Miss Callie treated us to some great grins and coos. She was an absolute doll and camera ham!

Modeling is hard work – time for a snooze.

The nice thing about newborns is that they’re peaceful little bundles once asleep, leaving parents plenty of time to take in every last detail of their beautiful new creation.

Life is good for this sweet girl!

Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Vols Newborn Boy Session – Footsteps Photography, Newborn Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

This sweet, little monkey is Noah.

He’s in good hands being watched over by his big brother.

Isn’t he just precious?!

Noah’s parents are both proudly serving in the US military so we had some fun with these patriotic photos. I love the shots with mom and dad’s boots.

With two boys in the house, I have no doubt there are plenty of sports in the future for these parents. Turns out, both mom and dad are sports fanatics, each with their favorite team and they brought some great props to help create this fun images.

Noah, you are such a sweetheart and I had a blast watching you check everything out with those bright, inquisitive eyes. I can’t wait to watch you grow and hope to see you back in the studio sometime soon!

Maternity & Family Session Footsteps Photography Bury St Edmonds

Courtney and I met at a pot luck shortly after we arrived in England almost 2 years ago.   WOW time has sure flown by as their family now has another little one on the way. Its a surprise as to if baby will be a boy or a girl.

The family loves going to the garden so that is where we headed for our morning session. Courtney was up for ANY weather condition rain or shine. Well the rain held out, but it was one of the most windy days we had in a while.

Sophia has one of the most beautiful smiles but also the most piercing eyes when she gives you her serious face.

Ohh that door is an awesome find. Thanks for showing it to me.


Before each session I schedule a pre-session consultation and  Courtney said “I love beautiful and unique architecture and am always looking for that unique unseen family moment.”  Well I think we got several during the Maternity/family session.

And what would be a day out at the park without playing and some ducks.

Juliet Tompson 4 Month Grow With Me Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall

Grow With Me sessions are a great way to document all the changes and milestones from your baby’s first year of life. Each session is booked separately so you can pick and choose when and how many you’d like. At just $150 per session, this is an easy and affordable way to start building a legacy of beautiful photos to look back on through the years. The session fee grants you five digital shots with print release as well as the opportunity to book additional sessions at a discounted rate. This Grow With Me session features 4 month old Juliet Tompson.

As you may have guessed, her daddy is a US military member stationed here in England. Many of my clients request photos of their babies with uniforms and flags and it’s always a fun challenge to come up with something new and creative at each shoot.  I loved this little red bow – perfect, simple and sweet; just like Juliet!

Juliet is just learning to sit up by herself so her parents lent a helping hand for these adorable Christmas-themed photos. I thought her mom did a great job picking out the entire outfit. I loved all the frills and bows – Santa’s Princess for sure!
