Foggy Morning Maternity session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

I’ve got a notebook full of ideas, concepts, looks and themes I want to shoot. From time to time everything lines up and THIS HAPPENS.

Its even more magical than I dreamed up in my head with the thick early morning fog and the light starting to peep through the clouds. Mari was the perfect model, stunning and beautiful with the new mommmy-to-be glow.

At 37 weeks, she’s not got much longer til her little baby girl is here snuggling in her arms.

I’ve got some other ideas running around in my head now so be on the look out for other new and exciting sessions or offers soon.

Pink and Polka Dots 6 month Grow With Me Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

Little Miss Quinn was back in the studio for her 6 month Grow With Me Session. Cute as can be in a polka dress and pearl bracelet that was her momma’s when she was a baby, we got some great smiles out of her.

Her mom loved this girly pink frame and Quinn seemed equally enamored.

Look at those beautiful blue eyes!

This handmade outfit has been in the family a while and I think the pink and peach tones are beautiful with Quinn’s hair color. And how sweet is that little curl on her forehead? Such a cutie!

A-Tisket, A-Tasket Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography, Newborn Photographer near RAF Mildenhall & Lakenheath

More newborn goodness! Talia is a gorgeous little girl with dark, curly hair and deep brown eyes. I think she looks just like her daddy!

Talia’s mom requested we use splashes of raspberry and aqua for this session and I think it was a great choice. We even got a funny face out of Miss T in the process!

I found these baby-sized butterfly wings online and shared them with Talia’s mom. She ended up buying them and using them in the session for this adorably sweet shot of her sleepy baby girl.

And finally, we used the much-loved cherry blossom backdrop to coordinate with Talia’s nursery. There are already plans in place to use this vintage basket in future sessions to show the growth of this sweet girl.

Surprise Military Homecoming – Footsteps Photography Mildenhall

A surprise military homecoming photo session for my good friend Jennifer of J Butterfield Photography. A few of her images are mixed into the video (at the end) before she joined the rest of the family and went in front of the camera.

Its always exciting when I have the pleasure of photographing a homecoming and this one was a little different than others. This one took place at their home. Mom and I plotted and planned out the return of the kids with their dad who had been away for far too long. They knew he would be back soon but had no idea when. So after school I arrived at their house got all set up and dad walked out of his hiding spot to greet his kids who were busy playing out in the garden. It took a few moments but once the little guy caught sight of his daddy he clung on tight and did not let go the whole time. You can tell mom is glad to have her man back and get some help with the kids as well. Welcome back Lt. Col Butterfield.

Sesame Street Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

Zack Crider was in the studio for his first birthday smash cake session and he rocked it! I’ve had the pleasure of documenting this little guy’s first year of life starting with his newborn session on the Harley Davidson, onto his six month session and now, his smash cake party.

I think it’s safe to say that Zack’s mom loves plaid as he’s had some variation of it for  most session. I can’t say I blame her though; he’s looks absolutely adorable!

I am lucky to work with some really talented vendors who collaborate with me in creating one-of-a-kind sessions for my clients. Zack loves Sesame Street so we made sure to play up the theme. The bright and colorful cake is by Cake, Love, Crossbones. Zack’s Sesame Street apparel is by Souder’s Kreations. And the hand painted backdrop is a custom Footsteps Photography prop that I made. All the pieces came together to make a bright and kid-friendly set!

Zack took a liking to the dots on the cake and tried to eat them all! We ended up taking them off so he could really dig into his cake.

I love this comment by Zack’s mom: “He made friends with the hat, but just for a short time.”

Happy first birthday, Zack! It’s been such a pleasure to watch you grow over this past year.
