New for Maternity Sessions – Footsteps Photography Maternity Portraits

As soon as I completed the first maternity flowing gown I KNEW It was going to look great on. So not having any maternity sessions lined up for another month I put out a maternity model call. One of the moms scheduled for a newborn session in a few weeks answered. She was 38weeks along at the time of the session and WOW looked stunning.  Joanne was a natural and it was a complete pleasure to photograph her. I asked her how she felt wearing the two she tried on and she said they felt comfortable and soft. These dresses took a lot of thought, planning and measurements to get just right. I’ve designed them to be able to wear at any stage since they flow away from the belly and are fitted around the chest. The split in the front can show a full belly, peek-a-boo belly or be held together to completely cover it.

Bright bold colors have always been a favorite of mine and finding things with the rich colors is hard. So I picked out a nice plum color to start with. The light that night was PERFECT and AMAZING!!! It was the last night before the cold and rain set in here in England.

I’d love to hear what you think of them or even future colors to add to the collection.  Up next  is a nice royal blue color 🙂

And on Wednesday, I’ll get to meet and photograph her sweet little girl so stay tuned for pictures of her.

Family of 5 Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall

I met the Munoz family at the Mayfair Bazaar. With the arrival of baby Zoe, they became a family of five including mom Krissy, dad Alex, big brother Brenden, and middle sister, Leyla.

Before the shoot, Krissy and I talked a lot about what everyone should wear. Many times, post partum moms are anxious about their appearance in photographs because of all the physical changes that occur during pregnancy. I think this black ensemble looked great on Krissy and that new mama glow didn’t hurt either!

For the sibling photos, the girls were decked out in pink frills and bows. So girly and sweet!

Doesn’t Zoe make a perfect little ballerina?

Krissy loves purple so we had some fun styling Zoe on this soft eggplant-hued blanket.

Zoe apparently approved of the purple choice as well, giving us a giant sleepy grin in between modeling some fancy headwear!

For our final set up, Krissy requested my cherry blossom backdrop. This is quickly becoming a client favorite and it’s no wonder as it’s a truly beautiful piece. It was painted by local artist Emily Magone of LoveArtWillTravel. She based it off a photo I took while living in Japan when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. I love offering clients one-of-a-kind details like this.

During her pregnancy, Krissy was part of a group called the Village Class. The idea is that you share prenatal care and classes with other moms who are due the same month as you. I would have loved to be part of something like this while pregnant with my daughter as I’m sure the moms formed a special bond of friendship. As a result of this class, I was recommended to many of the other moms so you will see several other blog posts featuring babies from the Village Class. Lots more adorable newborn cuteness to come!

Noah Brown Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall

Meet Noah Alexander. Loads of hair, perfect squishy face and the cutest little toes ever. And look at that great grin he gave us – I’ve been told this photo is now hanging in his mom’s office. So sweet!

I had a chance to use one of my new studio props on this shoot. The British telephone booth chalkboard is great for adding a customized touch to your images. And since Noah has ties to both America and Britain, this was a fun way to represent the two countries while still keeping the focus on this cute little guy.

We kept the rest of the shoot fairly simple sticking with neutral colors. The Brown’s did bring a special, handmade blanket that was sentimental to them so we made sure to include that.

Mama Amy also asked we take a couple pictures of just her and Noah. She had done a similar pose with her other two boys as newborns and I loved that she had made this a special tradition.

These are the final few photos from Noah’s newborn shoot and I am ecstatic with how they turned out. I love how the wood and fiber textures contrast one another without being distracting. Such a beautiful little boy; congrats Brown family!

Ivey Millmine Newborn and Family Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall

Ivey was born on September 2nd coming in at 8 pounds, 2.5 ounces; and just eight days later, was posing for her very first photo shoot. As a nod to her name, we chose a soft green blanket as a back drop and kept the props simple.

For being so young, Ivey was deliciously chunky with round cheeks and a perfectly pouty bottom lip.

No doubt she will be well looked after by big brother Ayden.

Ivey even gave us a little smile to match the proud grin on Ayden’s face.

What a beautiful little family. Congrats on the new addition and welcome to the world sweet Ivey!

Baby R Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall

We had a great time with props at this session; ranging from soft pastels to nice, bright jewel tones. The mama-to-be was gifted a newborn photo session at her baby shower – what a thoughtful gift!

This hat style is called a “cloche” and was a lot of fun to make.

Mom and Dad brought along this beautiful white cap. Isn’t she angelic?

I’m already looking forward to Baby R’s eight month Grow With Me session as we’ll get to use this bed again for size comparison.

The mermaid outfit is always popular and it’s easy to see why. Such a beautiful little girl; can’t wait to see you again!

Briggs Family Maternity and Newborn Sessions – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall

You may remember the Briggs family from a sneak peak photo I posted on the blog. I immediately fell in love with this trio and was looking forward to working with them again. This time around, we focused on Molly’s baby belly and documenting the last few weeks before this threesome became a foursome.

During maternity shoots, I like to keep things very simple, using classic colors and flattering lighting to help my moms feel pretty.

Molly was a great sport and proudly displayed her pregnant belly. When you’re the one who’s pregnant, it can feel like it goes on forever. But in the grand scheme of things, you’re only with child for nine months. How priceless to have these special images showing the strength and beauty that encompasses growing new life.

Joziah Curtis was born August 23rd, borrowing his middle name from his proud daddy, Curtis. Curtis is an avid golfer so we thought it only fitting that his namesake pose with some golf paraphernalia. Move over, Tiger Woods!

Talk about some beautiful genes! Big sister Bella is stunningly gorgeous and was ever so careful while cuddling her new baby brother.

Joziah played his part like a pro, snoozing away while we gently posed him for these sweet pictures.

Molly even brought a special outfit from a local vendor called Kaitie’s Corner. Joziah’s nursery has a sock monkey theme – how precious does he look in little diaper cover and hat? Such a sweet little boy and the perfect match for an already lovely family!
