Heart and Smiles – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath Newborn Photographer

Introducing Skylee Alexis!!!!
But before we get to more of her newborn session and the video at the end, lets share a few from her as a baby Bump session with mom and dad-to-be.  We meet for a beautiful evening maternity session with soft light in front of the cathedral. Mom and dads outfit colors were the perfect compliment to the natural tones in and around the cathedral.


And now back to the cute squishy Skylee.


Her grandma made her several bows for now and to grow into. The colors of this one is my favorite one of them.

The highlight of her session was Skylee on her mom and dad’s military uniform formed into the perfect heart for even when they are at work she is always in their hearts.


And last but not least some first family photos for this new family of 3.


And a special request from dad of his little girl in this outfit. I think its safe to say that Skylee has her daddy wrapped around her finger already.

To celebrate  seven years of Footsteps Photography, I’m having a Pin it to Win it contest for a FREE dream session! I love it when my clients have a creative vision for their shoot, and everyone loves Pinterest, so what better way for everyone to show me the visualization of their dream session!  Details on how you can enter are below!

One lucky person will win a session of their dreams, 5 Digital Images with Print Release from their session and a printed 5×7 of each of the 5 digital images! {Session must take place the local RAF Mildenhall/Lakenheath tribase areas}

Here is how you enter:

Classic Black & White Newborn Session Sneak Peek – Footsteps Photography

A few months ago on my facebook fan page I had posted a newborn images with her mother in black and white and said that one day I would love to photograph a styled newborn session in nothing but a classic black and white style.  I was thrilled when my return maternity family session messaged me and said their little boy Rowan was here and that they would love to do the a session in Black and white. I’ve got a great love of black and white photography and being able to add the cute and cuddliness of a newborn baby I’m in heaven.

I think that comes from being a formally trained photographer and back in the dark room days of developing my own film and shooting nothing but black and whites.  I’ve got boxes full of old negatives, prints, contact sheets and past projects in storage somewhere.  The other day I pulled these film cartridges out of an old camera bag and found one still with undeveloped unprocessed film on it from the bulk film loading day where I purchased my film in 1000shot rolls and wound it onto film cartridges.


Cameras have came a long way in just the 13 some odd years since I used my first film camera the Pentax K1000. Today I shoot with a digital Canon 5D Mark iii camera and a variety of lenses. This image below was shot with a 50mm lens, my still all time favorite lens. So for this session I wanted to try something different, I photographed the entire session in monochromatic.

Jewel Tones Newborn Girl Session – Footsteps Photography, Newborn Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

Cora James has beautiful black hair and gorgeous caramel skin that seems like it was made for jewel tones.

She’s also lucky to have a very talented mama who made her this beautiful quilt.

Cora joins two older siblings; no doubt she will be the princess of the family!

Such a strikingly gorgeous little girl; I can’t wait to watch her grow!

Pure and Innocence Maternity and Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography, Maternity and Newborn Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

This is a double dose of cute as I was able to shoot a maternity session as well as a newborn session for this sweet trio of girls.

The transition from being an only child to a big sister is a major change. This was a thoughtful way to make big sister feel important. And I love how this maternity shoot captured the special bond between Mom and her firstborn as well as the excitement of the sister to come. This family just radiates love and laughter!

Philippa finally made her appearance and is every bit as gorgeous as her big sister. No doubt these two are related!

We stuck to a neutral, tone-on-tone palette for this shoot and I think it lends a very pure and innocent feel to the shots. Perfect fit for a newborn baby girl and capturing all those lovely (and quickly changing) details.

Knowing they have to move frequently, Mom said she would prefer a neutral color scheme so the photos will match with any home or decor they may encounter. I love helping clients choose color schemes that fit you and your home so your photos become a piece of ART on your walls. If you need help picking out outfits for your next shoot, let me know!
