Audrey Hepburn Inspired Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

At the beginning of this year, Footsteps Photography held a “Pin It to Win It” contest where fans created Pinterest boards showing what their dream session would look like. It’s no secret that I LOVE the color turquoise as well as a good dose of glitz and glam. So when I saw Mari’s dream session included all these things, I was sold. In honor of her daughter’s first birthday, we put together this classic, Audrey Hepburn-inspired session for the aptly named Miss Audri!

Audri was quite the little lady until she got a taste of her delicious smash cake and then she just had to dig in. I can’t say I blame her; it looked delicious!

A very happy first birthday, little lady! I had so much fun bringing your dream session to life. I’ll leave you with a few wise words from your namesake, Miss Hepburn herself:

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

Frozen Inspired Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

I have been SO excited to share Cora’s Smash Cake session and it’s finally ready!

We used the movie Frozen as inspiration for this shoot; including snowflakes, beautiful hues of blue and turquoise and of course, a dainty crown for the birthday princess.

Cora wasn’t completely convinced she wanted to actually eat her cake. And I can’t say I blame her; it was almost too perfect to touch!

I’m particularly thankful there were no hidden cameras for this session as all of us behind the scenes would surely be internet sensations. We made complete fools out of ourselves getting Cora to laugh and smile for us.

And just for fun, here’s a comparison shot of Cora and her big brother. I think they might just be related…

Pretty As A Peacock Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

Carolina’s Smash Cake session was all about color. Gorgeous hues of purple and turquoise brought this peacock-inspired session together.Cake, Love, Crossbones had me drooling with this giant cupcake and it seems the birthday girl approved as well!

These colors were perfect for Carolina; showing off her jet black hair and shining eyes. You are pretty as a peacock. Happy first birthday, little one!

Korean Hanbok Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

Get ready for some serious color and amazing culture in Addison’s Smash Cake session.

Being of Korean descent, Addison wore a traditional hanbok for the first part of her session. It includes a hat and small pouch though Addison was more interested in playing with them than modeling them. The color and detail were absolutely gorgeous – it’s no secret that turquoise is my favorite color so I really loved the top coat with gold detail.

Inside Addison’s pouch was some money. According to Korean tradition, a child is presented with a variety of objects upon their first birthday. Whatever items the child picks is said to predict their future. Since Addison chose money, tradition holds that she will be rich. Not a bad destiny if you ask me!

Addison’s mom makes some adorable baby outfits and quilts so it was no surprise when she outfitted her little girl in this darling ruffled jumper. She made the peacock headband and brought in the info sign – no detail went unnoticed making this such a special session.

Cake, Love, Crossbones did another outstanding job with this cake; matching the ruffles and colors perfectly to the birthday girl’s outfit. In the final photo, you can see ingenuity at work. After smashing up her cake like a pro, Addison found this straw inside which was acting as a support for the different tiers. Clever girl, she quickly realized she could suck the cake through the straw and keep her hands clean. I predict a bright future for this little one. Happy first birthday, Addison Renee!

Pink Cherry Blossom 6 Month Grow With Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

Miss Abbey was all smiles for her six month Grow With Me session.

Dainty and girly in all pink, I loved how her dress coordinated perfectly with the cherry blossom background.

I can’t wait to see this little sweetheart again for her family session in a couple of months!

Newborn Boy in Turquoise and Navy – Footsteps Photography, Newborn Photographer near RAF Mildenhall

So many cute newborns in the studio lately! Get ready for Mason – a scrumptious roley poley guy with loads of beautiful, black hair.

I can not get enough of his chubbiness and I love how the turquoise brings out his nice, olive skin. Ohh and look at those rolls.

His mama contacted me all the way from California. She has family here in England and was returning for the birth of this little guy. So we were able to set up an international shoot of sorts!

Daddy is a DJ so we got a great shot of his future protege in these baby headphones.

Big, beautiful eyes and chubby cheeks. What’s not to love? So lovely to meet you, Mason!
