Pennington Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall
To celebrate her first birthday, Kelsie came to the studio for a smash cake session. These are a lot of fun as the reactions range from confusion to absolute excitement. This delicious treat came from Cake, Love,Crossbones; my go-to vendor for anything involving baked goodies. Don’t you just want to dig right in?!

Kelsie’s blue eyes and brown hair are the perfect match for bright, jewel tones and I thought this girly floral print made a beautiful backdrop for this little one-year-old and her mom.

Time for cake!

Kelsie was quite the little lady; opting to paint the floor with frosting rather than get it all over herself.

I love the chubby little hands and feet covered in frosting!

Toward the end of the session, she got a little grumpy so I had to capture some pouty faces.

Consider this cake smashed.

If you can’t get enough of this sweet little face, be sure to take a peek at Kelsie’s Newborn and Grow With Me sessions. The first year of life passes by so quickly (except for those sleepless nights) that it’s easy to forget your baby being so little. I love this comparison shot of Kelsie from her newborn shoot and her Smash Cake session. It’s the same stool but it seems so much smaller a year later!

It’s been such a treat to capture all your milestones over this past year. Happy 1st Birthday, Kelsie!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful morning and beautiful light than this.

I love the one-on-ones with her and her parents.

We even had a few photo bombing visitors sneak into the pictures several times.

Beware of the back Duck, he tries to steal flowers off of little girls shoes.
This little duck just wanted his close up.
Its a good thing I carry my “duck scarier” with me during photo session. It was very helpful 🙂

Jaxon Block Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall
For Jaxon’s Smash Cake session, his mom’s only request was that I go nuts with the styling and pick whatever I think would look best. This little guy has the most infectious smile so I knew I wanted to keep that as the highlight of his session. As usual, Holland of Cake, Love, Crossbones pulled through with a beautiful and delicious smash cake.

Jaxon decided to see what that teal frosting was all about. I love the range of expressions from confusion to happy discovery.

This little guy is fast and had a great time running all over the place.

Jaxon, you are just way too cute!

The bunting proved to be more exciting than the cake by the end.

The final aftermath (temper tantrum included)!

Baby R Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall
We had a great time with props at this session; ranging from soft pastels to nice, bright jewel tones. The mama-to-be was gifted a newborn photo session at her baby shower – what a thoughtful gift!

This hat style is called a “cloche” and was a lot of fun to make.

Mom and Dad brought along this beautiful white cap. Isn’t she angelic?

I’m already looking forward to Baby R’s eight month Grow With Me session as we’ll get to use this bed again for size comparison.

The mermaid outfit is always popular and it’s easy to see why. Such a beautiful little girl; can’t wait to see you again!

Pink and Blue Balloon Gender Reveal Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall
The Beets’ were about to move to back to the States and before they left they wanted a fun, creative gender reveal session to share with their family and friends.

Mom Jessica, dad Chris and big brother Aiden were excited to finally let the cat out of the bag (or maybe I should say the balloon into the sky?).

Their extended family is spread out all over the globe so the idea behind this shoot was to create a photo story with the images. Jessica was 18 weeks along here and her cute pregnant belly was just starting to show.

Time for the big reveal… it’s a girl!

Proud big brother

And we finished it all off by letting the boys go wild with some pink paint. Congrats, Beets Family!
