Parisian Party Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

Eliza’s one year Smash Cake session was a study in all things girly and sweet. We started with a British tea party where she was dressed to perfection in this ethereal mint and cream dress.

As you may have guessed by Eliza’s beautiful outfit, her mom works in fashion and made the stunning headbands you see in these photos. And what better setting for a little fashionista than the capitol of couture: Paris!

Eliza is one of the happiest babies I’ve had in a long time. Just look at her hamming it up for the camera!

This girl knows how to have her cake and eat it, too. Happy first birthday, Eliza!

Cupcake Cutie Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

What’s better than a cupcake? A cake-sized cupcake!

Cake, Love, Crossbones has done it again with this incredible, edible, larger than life cupCAKE. It even has a “cherry” on top!

Avery is one of my Grow With Me babies – you may remember her newborn and six month sessions. As usual, she was all smiles as she modeled her custom outfit from Etsy and dug into her delicious birthday treat.

This picture had all of us laughing. It’s as if Avery is saying, “I can’t believe I’m turning one!!”

Such a little doll; it’s hard to believe a year has already passed since I first met this sweet girl. Just for fun, here’s one last shot of Avery in the same pumpkin basket we used at her newborn session. Happy first birthday, little one!

Tiffany’s and TuTu’s Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

Babies in tutus and headbands – it’s at the top of the list for cutest things ever. Little Miss Stella certainly makes the cut in her custom first birthday outfit complete with matching “shoes.”

But wait, there’s more and it just keeps getting better. What’s a birthday without a cake?! Stella’s mom picked a Tiffany’s theme for the smash cake portion and since teal is my favorite color, this is basically my dream. The custom Footsteps Photography romper coordinated perfectly with the pearl-adorned cake created by Cake, Love, Crossbones.

Happy first birthday, Stella!

Sweet As Candy Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

My favorite little fashionista is back for her Smash Cake session and my, oh my, is it yummy!

But before we get to the cake, just look how much this sweet girl has grown! Quinn is one of my Grow With Me babies which means I was lucky enough to shoot her at three months, six months, nine months, and now twelve months.

Quinn’s mom brought this great first birthday sign along with the pearl anklet which she wore as a little girl and the diaper cover from Quinn’s first session with me. All the details added up to make some very special images.

This little buggy was a first birthday present and as you can see, Quinn knows exactly what to do with it – clever girl!

And now, on to the cake! I had a hard time not dipping into this tasty treat myself; it looked so delicious.

As usual, Quinn was dressed to impress; her bow and frock coordinating perfectly with the candy store theme. Happy first birthday, Miss Quinn! You have grown so much in the past year and I am so lucky to have been a part of that.

Korean Hanbok Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath

Get ready for some serious color and amazing culture in Addison’s Smash Cake session.

Being of Korean descent, Addison wore a traditional hanbok for the first part of her session. It includes a hat and small pouch though Addison was more interested in playing with them than modeling them. The color and detail were absolutely gorgeous – it’s no secret that turquoise is my favorite color so I really loved the top coat with gold detail.

Inside Addison’s pouch was some money. According to Korean tradition, a child is presented with a variety of objects upon their first birthday. Whatever items the child picks is said to predict their future. Since Addison chose money, tradition holds that she will be rich. Not a bad destiny if you ask me!

Addison’s mom makes some adorable baby outfits and quilts so it was no surprise when she outfitted her little girl in this darling ruffled jumper. She made the peacock headband and brought in the info sign – no detail went unnoticed making this such a special session.

Cake, Love, Crossbones did another outstanding job with this cake; matching the ruffles and colors perfectly to the birthday girl’s outfit. In the final photo, you can see ingenuity at work. After smashing up her cake like a pro, Addison found this straw inside which was acting as a support for the different tiers. Clever girl, she quickly realized she could suck the cake through the straw and keep her hands clean. I predict a bright future for this little one. Happy first birthday, Addison Renee!

Monkey Around Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography, Child Photographer near RAF Mildenhall & Lakenheath

Lucas is back on the blog and ready to smash some cake! This little monkey LOVES to climb anything and everything as you can see in his photos.

And what better theme for an active little guy than Safari?! Cake, Love, Crossbones created a jungle masterpiece complete with lions, giraffes and twisting vines just for the birthday boy.

Lucas thoroughly enjoyed his safari celebration and I just can’t get over those beautiful, long lashes. Happiest of Birthdays, you crazy little climber!
