Maternity and Newborn Session Pretty in Purple- Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall

Wanting to provide the best and most unique experience for my clients, I’m always working on new props and accessories. I designed and sewed these versatile maternity gowns and was anxious to see how they’d look on camera. When I put out a call for a maternity model, Joanne answered at 38 weeks pregnant! We met on the last warm day of the year and the sunset was absolutely stunning, just like this beautiful mama.

I love that the gown can be worn open or closed, depending on your preference. Additional dresses are not far from finished production and will be available for maternity shoots with Footsteps Photography. I’ll be adding lots of fun colors as well. Isn’t Joanne a natural?!

The purple flower headband made an appearance on both mama and baby – it’s the little details that really make these photos so special.

Shortly after her maternity session, Joanne came back to see me with her husband, Andy and their new baby girl, Sophia! Joanne had been referred to me by her fellow moms from the Village Class. I do offer referral incentives so be sure to share Footsteps Photography with all your family and friends to receive a discount on your next session!

After seeing how photogenic her mom was, it came as no surprise that Sophia was a natural in front of the camera as well. She even stuck out her tongue for us!

This little lace headband and the name banner were purchased on Etsy. Joanne brought all sorts of beautiful props and I especially loved that the banner had been used at Sophia’s baby shower.

The cream color is a dream to work with and photographs so beautifully with the softness and perfection of babies natural skin tone. Its a favorite of mine to use during sessions.

For the last few shots of the session, we used the always popular cherry blossom background. The vintage pram is a studio prop and we personalized it by this handmade baby blanket Joanne used as a child.

Thank you, Joanne and Andy, for allowing me to capture these stunning images of your sweet family!

New for Maternity Sessions – Footsteps Photography Maternity Portraits

As soon as I completed the first maternity flowing gown I KNEW It was going to look great on. So not having any maternity sessions lined up for another month I put out a maternity model call. One of the moms scheduled for a newborn session in a few weeks answered. She was 38weeks along at the time of the session and WOW looked stunning.  Joanne was a natural and it was a complete pleasure to photograph her. I asked her how she felt wearing the two she tried on and she said they felt comfortable and soft. These dresses took a lot of thought, planning and measurements to get just right. I’ve designed them to be able to wear at any stage since they flow away from the belly and are fitted around the chest. The split in the front can show a full belly, peek-a-boo belly or be held together to completely cover it.

Bright bold colors have always been a favorite of mine and finding things with the rich colors is hard. So I picked out a nice plum color to start with. The light that night was PERFECT and AMAZING!!! It was the last night before the cold and rain set in here in England.

I’d love to hear what you think of them or even future colors to add to the collection.  Up next  is a nice royal blue color 🙂

And on Wednesday, I’ll get to meet and photograph her sweet little girl so stay tuned for pictures of her.
