Princess & the Pea Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall
Baby Chloe was born October 9th at 18.5 inches long and weighing 6 pounds, 8 ounces.

Her mom, Christelle, was another one of my moms from the Village Class. Coincidentally, all the babies from that group that came to see me were girls! Christelle fell in love with this pink bonnet and said it reminded her of Little Bo Peep. I can see it!

Welcoming a new baby to the family is always an exciting time and you can tell Christelle, Troy, and Amber adore little Miss Chloe already!

I love the happy grin and spit bubbles in this shot not to mention Christelle’s gorgeous brown eyes.

Snoozing away on Daddy’s shoulder.

Beautiful girls looking pretty in pink.

Christelle likes bright, cheery colors so we played around with different blankets and props in pinks and purple.

It’s also nice to do some simple shots with a more muted palette. Chloe ended up giving us some incredible expressions in this set. She even seems to be giggling at her own private joke in one of the photos. Such a little doll!

This last shot has now become one of my most requested set-ups and it’s easy to see why. Christelle wanted a Princess and the Pea photo so I got to work making her wish come true. I love how this turned out – so whimsical and magical. If you have an idea for something special you’d like during your session, chances are good that I can make it happen so be sure to ask!

I had so much fun capturing your great personality, Chloe; you’re an absolute princess! And I can’t wait to see you grow.

Pennington Smash Cake Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall
To celebrate her first birthday, Kelsie came to the studio for a smash cake session. These are a lot of fun as the reactions range from confusion to absolute excitement. This delicious treat came from Cake, Love,Crossbones; my go-to vendor for anything involving baked goodies. Don’t you just want to dig right in?!

Kelsie’s blue eyes and brown hair are the perfect match for bright, jewel tones and I thought this girly floral print made a beautiful backdrop for this little one-year-old and her mom.

Time for cake!

Kelsie was quite the little lady; opting to paint the floor with frosting rather than get it all over herself.

I love the chubby little hands and feet covered in frosting!

Toward the end of the session, she got a little grumpy so I had to capture some pouty faces.

Consider this cake smashed.

If you can’t get enough of this sweet little face, be sure to take a peek at Kelsie’s Newborn and Grow With Me sessions. The first year of life passes by so quickly (except for those sleepless nights) that it’s easy to forget your baby being so little. I love this comparison shot of Kelsie from her newborn shoot and her Smash Cake session. It’s the same stool but it seems so much smaller a year later!

It’s been such a treat to capture all your milestones over this past year. Happy 1st Birthday, Kelsie!

Family of 5 Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall
I met the Munoz family at the Mayfair Bazaar. With the arrival of baby Zoe, they became a family of five including mom Krissy, dad Alex, big brother Brenden, and middle sister, Leyla.

Before the shoot, Krissy and I talked a lot about what everyone should wear. Many times, post partum moms are anxious about their appearance in photographs because of all the physical changes that occur during pregnancy. I think this black ensemble looked great on Krissy and that new mama glow didn’t hurt either!
For the sibling photos, the girls were decked out in pink frills and bows. So girly and sweet!

Doesn’t Zoe make a perfect little ballerina?

Krissy loves purple so we had some fun styling Zoe on this soft eggplant-hued blanket.

Zoe apparently approved of the purple choice as well, giving us a giant sleepy grin in between modeling some fancy headwear!

For our final set up, Krissy requested my cherry blossom backdrop. This is quickly becoming a client favorite and it’s no wonder as it’s a truly beautiful piece. It was painted by local artist Emily Magone of LoveArtWillTravel. She based it off a photo I took while living in Japan when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. I love offering clients one-of-a-kind details like this.

During her pregnancy, Krissy was part of a group called the Village Class. The idea is that you share prenatal care and classes with other moms who are due the same month as you. I would have loved to be part of something like this while pregnant with my daughter as I’m sure the moms formed a special bond of friendship. As a result of this class, I was recommended to many of the other moms so you will see several other blog posts featuring babies from the Village Class. Lots more adorable newborn cuteness to come!

Studio Props – Footsteps Photography RAF Lakenheah/Mildenhall Newborn Photographer
One of the most asked questions when parents-to-be inquire about booking a newborn session is “Do I have to bring all of the hats and prop type things with me or do you have them?
No, You do not have to bring anything with you outside of a normally stocked diaper bag. At the studio it is fully stocked with a variety of hats, wraps, backdrop and also prop type items. One of the newest its the little moon. Isn’t it just adorable.

Another favorite item is the pint sized airplane. This is good for babies up to about 12-24 months.

And of course a variety of little beds are available for babies and toddlers. **these items make a great grow with me photo series**

This is no where near a full list just a sampling of the items.
I do however encourage you to bring any special items that you have with you such as military uniforms, baby blankets, heirloom items, and other hand made items for instance.
If you have not already done so, You can take a visual tour through FSP’s studio here to view a selection of hats and backdrops.
Noah Brown Newborn Session – Footsteps Photography RAF Mildenhall
Meet Noah Alexander. Loads of hair, perfect squishy face and the cutest little toes ever. And look at that great grin he gave us – I’ve been told this photo is now hanging in his mom’s office. So sweet!

I had a chance to use one of my new studio props on this shoot. The British telephone booth chalkboard is great for adding a customized touch to your images. And since Noah has ties to both America and Britain, this was a fun way to represent the two countries while still keeping the focus on this cute little guy.

We kept the rest of the shoot fairly simple sticking with neutral colors. The Brown’s did bring a special, handmade blanket that was sentimental to them so we made sure to include that.

Mama Amy also asked we take a couple pictures of just her and Noah. She had done a similar pose with her other two boys as newborns and I loved that she had made this a special tradition.

These are the final few photos from Noah’s newborn shoot and I am ecstatic with how they turned out. I love how the wood and fiber textures contrast one another without being distracting. Such a beautiful little boy; congrats Brown family!
