The Tribase area is lucky to have a strong and supportive community and this is particularly true if you are an expectant mother. Abigail, a local doula, contacted me as she was looking for updated headshots for her new website.

As she explained to me, “A Doula recognizes that women have the power to birth, whether it be a drug-free birth or medically assisted,  and helps the mother to access her own ‘Mother Nature’ throughout the childbearing year. A doula also provides emotional support, physical comfort measures, an objective viewpoint and assistance in getting the information she needs to make empowered decisions throughout her pregnancy, birth and postpartum.”
